When trying to look through the creative menu, and upon clicking the compass button, and further attempts to press it, I received this crash. Which mentoined Tinkers tooltips. |

Definitely the tooltips. Try going through every page on NEI and see if you crash then. Also try removing TiCon and see if that makes a difference.
I know that with large numbers of mods the creative search has struggled as it loads everything at once - just avoid it! Of you're in creative NEI is good for almost everything. If it lacks something it'll probably be in the creative tab.
