Glad I could help  Just keep in mind, that the reach of a beacon is 20-50 blocks only. The effect will last aprox. 8 seconds That's the sad thing  , when 1.8 comes out I'm already thinking of a funny little way to get up fast whit the slimeblocks, unfortnately I go up very often in the Nether because that's were I mine qaurtz (I like to keep it a bit natural after all). The beacon really helped a bit whit coming up fast! |

It is 50, Cubic meters. If it were placed over the jump track, you could cover 101 meters with one beacon. (50radiusx2+1 for the actual beacon).
also, you could make a ice track that is (from bottom) ice, slab, air, topside slab. But it's not quite as fast as using trap doors.

This page in neverending... Now I know how ro travel in minecraft useing everthing. And another tay is building a bridge with wather and use a boat. I know it's a lot of work to do but it works
