UTOPIA Server - Monthly Open Day!

THIS ANNOUNCEMENT SHOULD BE TREATED AS POTENTIAL - NOT FULLY AGREED YET

I'd like to get your feeling on the idea that we could have a Utopia Open Day once per month.

This would be a time period of 24hrs that the server was open to Forum members only.
The whitelist would include the names of the forum members who are interested in joining us.

Forum members would be welcome a access the Utopia Modpack Client files.
Download the pack from our Dropbox, just the same as the Youtubers of Utopia.
This would allow you to also keep a copy of the pack upto date on your client, and update it when we do.

During Open Days, we cant promise that your favourite youtuber from Utopia will be there when you are...
but there is plenty of us who will try to make an effort to be online on the server during the open day.
Expect Tours of the Server, visit bases and perhaps see some of us hanging out in our homes.
There may be Livestreams, and recording going on that will appear on youtube with you in videos.

We may also be able to set up Teamspeak so that those of you allow access to the server on open days,
will also be able to join the live chat and get the full experience on the Server with us.

I think that to restrict the numbers of people who wish to attend the open days, the forum members of a
certain level would qualify... lets say after 10 posts.. just to stop anyone coming, saying "hi" and getting on.

Hope you guys give this a little more thought in this thread and post your ideas below.

Sub servers only work for streamers with a full Twitch partnership, because we know that people who pay 5 dollars a month to a streamer wouldn't do something stupid like grief a base.

I'm thinking we could manage this if we just took a backup of the map the day before and then have all of our available streamers stream the event. It could also bring good publicity to Utopia for people who don't know about it. The only issue with that is the AT Launcher pack is behind from our pack, so we would really only be able to tour the main map and no bundle ages. Bundle ages are where all the excitement usually as at this point of the game.

We haven't really talked about it. We'll keep you guys updated on anything about it.
