Not sure what this is about. Unless i have the traveller's boots on, i can't go up stairs. In addition, the boots are really glitchy. They let me walk from the entrance of my tower, directly to the top...

So we finally found out what was causing this. If you have ticon's traveler boot's toss em out. And until then, if you get on the server, warn folks to relog. along with you.
Essentially I realized it when I was alone on the server fully capable of walking up stairs, then bambi had logged on. And the very moment he logged on, I couldn't walk up stairs anymore. And then I remember hearing how buggy the boot's were and seeing how jumpy they were on camera, I asked him if he was wearing them... at first no luck, removing them didn't fix it, until he had an idea. The idea being we both relogged after he removed the boots, and as soon as we came back on, we could climb stairs normally.

So somehow the effects of the boots are affecting everyone else on the server adversely, but only on carpenter's stairs (and I assume slopes)?

No You see, Bambi was one of the first people on the server with the boots and was on a fair bit, also these boots are fairly cheap and offer step assist, so the assumption came when he could no longer walk up stairs after someone had put on the boot's i'm guessing. But most of the stairs on the server were carpenter's stairs. I'm one of the few using vanilla stairs, inwhich I realized it wasn't just with carpenters.

Ah, so the boots are changing the default maximum height any player can step up before needing to jump while at least one player is wearing them? I wouldn't have expected anything like that... If you can, set your console to a relatively verbose mode and see if it registers anything changing as you or someone else puts the boots on. They are obviously very buggy generally, and are most likely a work in progress with serious problems on multiplayer...
