First off they started charging, not a little, a lot. I liked the app enough that i subscribed. But not only did they start charging, they messed with the whole app. The browser with a fluently encoded vpn is not the first screen you see, now you sign in to the vpn, and transfer to a browser, and hopefully by that point app hasn’t crashed yet. The new update also has problems running the browser in landscape mode. I’ve only gotten it to turn sideways once in the two days I’ve been using it.
But in order for something like Tor to actually get used, it needs to be unobtrusive, easy to use, and easy to stop using. In other words, we need a quick and easy “On/Off” switch for using Tor or not using Tor. We’ll get there, and then we’ll go one step further.
In the Pattern Type column, choose the appropriate pattern. For the pattern to edit English Wikipedia pages, I set it to “RegExp”. (Regular expressions are beyond the scope of this how to. Suffice it to say that they’re extremely powerful, but you can also just use several different wildcard expressions to achieve the same effect.)
If your settings are set to only allow apps from the first option, Mac App Store, or the second option Mac App Store and ‘identified developers’, you need to give your system permission to install the Tor Browser.
