My laptop has an AMD processor with Radeon graphics built in. If I were going to actually buy a card for a desktop then I would get the best bang for the buck. I've owned both Radeon and Nvidia over the years.
Nvidia....I went AMD for years, but I started getting glitches on AMD cards "skipping" during games last two generations. Having a Great FPS score in a benchmark is not all that matters smoothness and quality matter too, and lately Nvidia is no contest to my mind in that area....simply put it in and it works.....and no insanity bug hunting why frames are skipping!
